The VigiPacT RH99M is a DIN rail mounting residual current monitoring relay. It monitors drops in electrical insulation due to ageing of cables or extensions in the installation. It measures the earth leakage current in an electrical installation via its associated toroid. A control signal is issued by the relay when the residual-current operating threshold is overrun. The operational supply voltage is 12/24VAC 50/60Hz, or 12/48VDC. The current sensitivity is selectable with 9 thresholds from 30 mA to 30 A.

The VigiPacT RH99M has a double function: it detects any drop in insulation through its associated toroid and then issues a control signal when this drop exceeds a set threshold (between 30mA and 30A). The relay monitors all types of cables (aluminium, copper or steel) as well as extension cords with plugs that have been connected incorrectly (earthed).

The Schneider Electric type A circuit breaker with integral Earth leakage protection is intended to protect electrical installation against overcurrent and short-circuit currents in accordance with IEC/EN 60947-2. It has been designed for installation on distribution boards, switchboards and control panels.

The device is supplied with a 9-pole terminal block which is mounted on the front face of the casing and accepts power supply cables of up to 16 mm2. The time delay is selectable with 9 settings from instantaneous to 4.5s. There is an automatic reset after a fault clearance. The monitored distribution system voltage is up to 1000 VAC 50/60/400 Hz. It is installed on a DIN-rail inside a switchboard and the protection degree is IP40.
