A DPDT switch, or Double-Pole Double-Throw switch, is an electrical switch that has two separate circuits controlled by a single lever or knob. Each circuit has two possible positions, commonly referred to as "throw." The DPDT switch has two common configurations: on-on and on-off-on.

HOW DO DPDT SWITCHES WORK?

4) On-Off-On Configuration : Another configuration is "on-off-on," where the switch has an "off" position in the middle. In this setup, the switch can connect one circuit in the first position, turn both circuits off in the middle position, and connect a different circuit in the second position.
