Flow requirement

This is one of the most critical factors when determining which oxygen concentrator is right for you. The equipment must only be used per doctor’s orders, and they will prescribe the flow requirement, which is indicated in LPM (Litres Per Minute), and the value will depend on the condition of the patient and the amount of oxygen therapy needed. A doctor may specifically suggest that you buy an oxygen concentrator with a 5LPM or 10LPM capacity. 5LPM is typically prescribed, so it is widely available online.

Usage

Consider what you need it for, as it can help you decide whether to get a portable model or one you can use at home. Portable oxygen concentrators are often three to four times more expensive than residential units, so it’s important to make an informed choice. If you need regular oxygen therapy, then you may need to buy an oxygen concentrator.
